Introduction: Veg Manchurian for Fried Rice

Veg Manchurian is a delicious Indo Chinese dish of fried vegetable balls that can be served with fried rice. There are two methods for making veg Manchurian.

  1. Veg Manchurian Gravy (With Sauce) - Delicious Chinese main course. It pairs well with fried rice, schezwan fried rice, or steamed rice.
  2. Veg Manchurian Dry - Serve as an appetizer or as a side dish with Hakka noodles or chow mien.

I make mini veg Manchurian gravy for you to serve with fried rice.

Supplies

Veg Manchurian Ingredients :

Flour

1) 1 teaspoon Refined wheat flour ( All purpose flour )

2) 1 teaspoon Corn flour


Vegetables

1) 50 gram Cabbage

2) 10 gram Capsicum

3) 10 gram Green Garlic

4) 10 gram Green Onion

5) 10 gram Coriander

6) 10 gram Garlic

7) 10 gram Ginger


Other

1) 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder

2) 1/4 teaspoon Salt

3) 5 teaspoon Oil

4) 1/4 teaspoon Saya Sauce

5) 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Sauce

6) 1/4 teaspoon Tomato Sause

7) 1 teaspoon Water


Step 1: Preparation

The fried vegetables balls are tossed and dunked in a sauce or gravy in the Veg manchurian gravy recipe. I use cabbage to make these veggie balls. Other vegetables, such as carrot, can be used. Take one cabbage and cut it up. Put the finely chopped vegetables in a bowl.

Step 2: Flour and Vegetables Mixture

Then add the dry ingredients: 1 tablespoon corn flour, 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (refined wheat flour), 1/4 teaspoon garlic ginger paste, 1/4 teaspoon red chili powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt, to taste.

Mix and gather the entire mixture. Then mix and knead until the vegetables have left the water and you have a dough-like mixture. Gluten strands can form, giving the fried veggie balls a dense chewy texture. Simply mix thoroughly and press the vegetables to release their juices.

Step 3: Making Veg Manchurian Balls

Then light the gas burner and place the pan. Then take a small portion of the veggie mixture in your hands, press and roll it in your palm, and make a round veggie ball. Make all the veggie balls this way and keep them aside.

Step 4: Frying Balls

In a kadai or pan, heat the oil for deep frying.

Place the balls in the hot oil with care. The oil should be medium-hot. If you use too much heat, the Manchurian balls will be browned on the outside but undercooked on the inside. Less hot oil causes the balls to absorb too much oil.

Fry the balls until crisp and golden, turning them over twice. Drain as much oil as possible with a slottedΒ 

Step 5: Gravy Gravy 😍

In a pan or wok, heat 1/4 teaspoon oil. 1 teaspoon green onion, 1 teaspoon green garlic, and 1 teaspoon finely chopped capsicum

Stir and mix very well and addΒ 1 to 1.25 teaspoon water. Let the mixture come to a boil for some time.

Step 6: Veggie Balls Meet Gravy

After that, add the fried vegetable balls. Gently stir in the gravy and coat the fried vegetable balls. Then, remove all of the food from the pan and place it in a bowl. Veg Manchurian goes well with fried rice.
